Existing currency converters serve basic conversion needs but fail travelers, shoppers, and investors who need contextual, multi-segment functionality.

Research

Research & Insights

User interviews, competitive analysis of currency apps, survey of traveler and investor pain points. Identified that no converter served all three user segments well.

Full UX process — information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, visual design, and style guide creation. Iterative refinement based on testing feedback.

Reflection

What I Learned

X-Rate taught me that even seemingly simple utility tools benefit enormously from proper UX research. The gap between "functional" and "good" is where user research lives.
